Gambia Travel Update. Update 28/9/20 | Update 30/9/20 | Update 9/10/20 | Update 15/10/20 | Update 24/11/20
Here we are with another update for you. The situation regarding Covid19, travel and our ability to manage the situation has changed daily. Decisions made on a Monday are invalid by Friday. It’s upsetting to change our plans once again but it has become clear that we really don’t have a choice.
Gambia Experience announced last week it will stop flying on 13/1/21. They are hopeful they may be able to continue with flights to The Gambia from some point in March. But of course, this as we all know is by no means guaranteed. This now means there are no direct flights from The UK to The Gambia for at least the next couple of months.
Mandatory Quarantine
If flying with a non-direct flight then there is a mandatory quarantine of at least one night. It’s at your own expense. A test is done and you will be allowed to continue with your holiday only if you produce a negative test in The Gambia
Because there is now a more infectious variant in the mix there is little chance of things improving until a significant number of people have received the vaccine.
We are closing until next season ☹️
With this in mind, we are now closing our lodge until the new season begins on the 15th of October 2021. We would like to assure everyone that we will be open for the 2021/22 season and we are all looking forward to welcoming you back to Gambia’s smiling coast.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the entire team at Footsteps to thank you all for your support. Everyone is OK and indeed we have been busy making the lodge beautiful for next season.
We are accepting bookings without deposit for the 2021/22 season so why not lift your spirits & ours…
